About this role

We are seeking a Protection & Controls Engineer to design protective relaying and control systems for data center electrical infrastructure.

You will develop protection schemes, relay settings, and control logic for medium voltage switchgear, generators, and UPS systems. This role requires deep expertise in power system protection and an understanding of mission-critical facility requirements.

Protect critical power infrastructure with state-of-the-art protective relaying systems, ensuring rapid fault detection and system reliability for facilities that cannot tolerate power disruptions.

What you'll do

  • Design protection and control systems
  • Develop relay settings and coordination studies
  • Create control logic diagrams
  • Coordinate with substation and electrical teams
  • Support testing and commissioning
  • Develop SCADA integration specifications

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of protection and controls engineering experience
  • Experience with data center or utility protection
  • Expert knowledge of protective relaying
  • Proficiency with relay coordination software
  • Understanding of IEC 61850 and DNP3 protocols
  • Experience with SCADA integration

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PE license preferred
  • Experience with SEL, GE, or Schweitzer relays
  • Knowledge of IEEE and NERC standards
